How the semester runs

Campus till Wednesday.
Thursdays, out on site.

Fifteen weeks with a two week break in the middle. The studio project starts in week one and ends with your final presentation.

Week 1
Arrival.
Welcome dinner, orientation and ceremony at Universitas Udayana, then a city tour through Denpasar. The Studio Project launches in the same week, so the capstone runs alongside everything else from day one.
Weeks 2 to 7
Fieldwork.
Lectures and studio sessions Monday to Wednesday, a full excursion most Thursdays. Traditional villages, a watercolor and sketching workshop, bamboo architecture at Green Village, model making and a construction site. Programming and site analysis for the studio happen in parallel.
Weeks 8 & 9
Semester break.
Two weeks off in the middle of the semester. Most students use them to travel: Java, the Gili Islands, Flores, or simply more of Bali.
Weeks 10 to 13
Studio.
Back on campus for tropical villa and interior work, a studio visit to a working architecture office and a cultural event. Architectural designs, 3D perspectives and rendering, then the A3 portfolio comes together.
Weeks 14 & 15
Portfolio.
Final submissions and presentation, exam week, then graduation and farewell. You go home with an A3 design portfolio, a certificate and an academic transcript.
Questions

What people ask us
on WhatsApp.

Do I need an architecture background?
Yes. The programme is built for students of architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning and related design fields, at Bachelor or Master level, plus early-career professionals. You should have completed at least one year of study, meaning two semesters, in architecture or a related subject.
How many credits do I earn?
30 ECTS across six modules, roughly comparable to 15 US credits by workload. You also receive a certificate and an academic transcript from Universitas Udayana. Your home institution alone decides recognition, so confirm this with your registrar before you register.
Which visa do I need?
The E-30 student visa. A visa on arrival or tourist visa is not permitted for studying under Indonesian law. From the Summer Class 2027 onwards, the E-30 is included in the programme fee, and we guide you through the whole process.
When does the programme run?
There are two intakes a year: a Winter Class starting in September and a Summer Class starting in April. The Winter Class 2026 is confirmed and already running, so applications for it are closed. The next open intake is the Summer Class 2027, from 5 April to 17 July 2027, with applications until 15 January 2027.
