Why StudyInBali Loves Udayana University

Our story with UNUD began in 2013, when we joined forces with the Architecture Department to launch our very first program, the Southeast Asian Architecture Program. It was a hit, and we’ve been growing together ever since!

Today, we’re proud to run three exciting study abroad programs at Udayana University (UNUD), hosted by two of its renowned faculties—the Medical Faculty (Fakultas Kedokteran) and the Engineering Faculty (Fakultas Teknik).

🌴 Southeast Asian Architecture Program

Dive into the beauty and complexity of tropical architecture in this 15-week immersive course hosted by the Faculty of Engineering. Whether you’re analyzing Bali’s traditional family compounds, exploring eco-resorts, or designing earthquake-resistant bamboo structures, this program combines theory with hands-on practice. The Southeast Asian Architecture Program is one of the Universitas Udayana programs that blends cultural immersion with academic rigor. You’ll learn how to:

  • Blend modern designs with traditional Balinese architecture.
  • Incorporate sustainable and culturally responsive solutions into your projects.
  • Work on a unique individual design project that ties together everything you’ve learned.

Field trips, expert-led workshops, and visits to iconic Balinese structures make this a one-of-a-kind experience for aspiring architects.

⚙️ Southeast Asian Engineering Program

This program focuses on the engineering challenges and solutions unique to Southeast Asia. From renewable energy systems to tropical construction methods, this is your chance to apply your engineering skills in a real-world tropical context. Special highlights include:

  • Hands-on projects, including designing systems for sustainability and resilience in tropical environments.
  • Workshops with local experts on renewable energy, waste management, and disaster preparedness (think earthquake and flooding mitigation).
  • Excursions to innovative engineering projects and green energy facilities across Bali.

If you’re studying civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or related subjects—or just curious about how to engineer for the tropics—this program is for you.

🏋️ Sports and Physiotherapy Program

This is not your typical classroom experience—it’s a deep dive into the world of sports science and physiotherapy in the tropics, hosted by UNUD’s renowned Medical Faculty. Here’s what sets it apart:

  • Practical Training: Learn about tropical-specific challenges like heat adaptation, hydration, and injury prevention in warm climates.

  • Sports Modules: From surfing and yoga to traditional Balinese martial arts, you’ll experience how sport and culture blend in Bali.

  • Physiotherapy Focus: Gain hands-on experience with physiotherapy techniques, rehabilitation methods, and wellness practices, taught by experts in the field.

  • Workshops and Excursions: Participate in sessions with local physiotherapy clinics and wellness centers while exploring Bali’s vibrant sports and wellness scene.

Whether you’re looking to enhance your knowledge, gain practical experience, or simply indulge your interest in health and wellness, this program offers something for everyone.
