In the Southeast Asian Architecture Program at Universitas Udayana, you’ll spend 15 transformative weeks diving deep into Southeast Asia’s architectural heritage. One-Semester Program

This 15-week program is designed as a full semester study abroad experience. Over the course of one semester, students will dive deep into the unique design principles of Southeast Asia, exploring how traditional and modern architecture blend to create harmony between Eastern and Western styles.

Six In-Depth Modules

Engage in a well-rounded curriculum covering Southeast Asian vernacular architecture, tropical home design, interior architecture, and resort design. Each module is crafted to deepen your understanding of architecture within the tropical, cultural context of Bali.

Earn 30 Transferable Credit Points

At Universitas Udayana, students are supported by a dedicated faculty within the architecture department, fostering a collaborative and immersive learning experience. Designed for Practical Learning and Exploration

The Southeast Asian Architecture Program spans 15 weeks, starting with a welcoming orientation to help you acclimate to the campus and Bali. Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, where you will engage in on-campus lectures covering essential engineering topics. Thursdays are dedicated to excursions, allowing you to experience real-world applications of your learning in Bali’s unique environment. Fridays are usually free for self-study or exploration.

In the middle of the program, there is a two-week semester break for students to explore Bali or neighboring islands, providing an opportunity for self-directed learning and cultural immersion. At the conclusion of the program, you will participate in a graduation ceremony where you will receive your certificates, celebrating your achievements and newfound knowledge.

Bachelor’s and Diploma Students in Architecture

Ideal for international students pursuing studies in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Planning, who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Southeast Asian architectural principles and tropical design practices.

Master’s Students and Recent Graduates

Also suited for advanced students and recent graduates seeking specialized knowledge in Southeast Asian architecture, sustainable design, and cultural integration. This program equips participants with a globally relevant perspective on architecture that bridges Eastern and Western practices.

Enthusiastic Architecture and Design Professionals

This program is also open to professionals in architecture and related fields – such as Sustainable Design, Urban Development, or Environmental Planning – who wish to gain practical, hands-on experience in architectural practices specific to Southeast Asia.

This course is primarily designed for architecture students, and ideally, participants should have completed at least one year of study in their field. Modules

The Southeast Asian Architecture Program at Universitas Udayana consists of six in-depth modules, providing a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the unique cultural and environmental context of Southeast Asia.
