Deep Dive into Visual Storytelling and Cultural Immersion

The Creative Voyage: Travel Photography & Videography Summer School is a 4-week immersive experience, with each week dedicated to a different aspect of visual storytelling, guiding students through the essentials of photography and filmmaking while fully immersing them in Bali’s vibrant culture.

In the first week, students dive into the Foundations of Photography and Filmmaking, where they learn core techniques in camera settings, composition, and lighting. Practical sessions in stunning Balinese settings, from traditional villages to breathtaking landscapes, provide the perfect introduction to capturing Bali’s unique beauty through the lens.

The second week shifts focus to Storytelling and Creative Development. Students learn how to create compelling narratives through images and video, exploring storytelling techniques that make travel content captivating and authentic. Hands-on workshops and field excursions to Bali’s bustling markets, scenic rice terraces, and traditional performances give students ample opportunities to craft visual stories that resonate.

In the third week, students advance to Editing and AI-Enhanced Content Creation. Which visa do I need for the program?

For the four-week short course, PIB allows students to join using the Visa on Arrival (VoA). This visa is available upon arrival in Indonesia and is valid for 30 days, with the option to extend it for an additional 30 days if needed.

Is accommodation included in the program fee?

No, accommodation is not included. However, on-campus options are available, and we can assist you in finding nearby accommodation if needed.

How much should I budget for living expenses in Bali?

Living expenses in Bali are generally affordable. On average, you can budget around $500–$800 USD per month for housing, meals, and transport, depending on your lifestyle.

Do I need to know Indonesian to participate in the program?

No, all classes are taught in English, and no prior knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is required. However, you’ll have opportunities to learn basic Indonesian language skills.

What kind of health insurance do I need?

You are required to have travel or health insurance that covers you for the entire duration of your stay in Indonesia, including medical care and emergency evacuation.

Can I work while studying in Bali?

No, the C9 Study Visa does not allow students to work during their stay. The focus is on education and cultural activities.

What kind of transportation is available in Bali?

Bali doesn’t have extensive public transportation, but getting around is easy with apps like Grab or Gojek. Many students also rent scooters for affordable and convenient travel around the island.
