FAQ

Questions about
this program.

Experience, gear, assessment, attendance, credits and session dates.

What level do I need to be at?
The course starts from foundations: camera settings, composition and light in week one, then builds through storytelling, editing and a final showcase. Bring curiosity and whatever you shoot with today, phone included. You do not need to be a professional.
Do I need my own gear?
Not necessarily. Or just your iPhone: a modern phone camera is enough to complete every assignment, and if you decide partway through that you want to try a DSLR or mirrorless body, gear can be borrowed on campus. Editing runs in Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere, so a laptop you can edit on is recommended. Bring whatever you actually want to learn with, and a pre-arrival kit note goes out on confirmation.
Will my home university accept the ECTS?
The programme documents up to 10 ECTS. Your home institution alone decides whether and how the credits count, so confirm this with your registrar and sign a Learning Agreement before you start. We provide the documentation for that review.
How is it assessed?
Practical assignments, reflective journals and active participation in workshops and excursions, ending in a final photography portfolio, a travel video and a showcase presentation. There is no written exam.
Is attendance required?
Yes. The weekly excursions are part of the program and attendance is expected across classes, workshops and excursions. It is a full month of shooting, with weekends free for the island.
Which sessions run, and when?
Two intakes a year: a Mid Year Session in June and July, and a Late Year Session in November. Applications for Late Year Session 2026, 2 to 27 November, are open now.
