Southeast Asian Engineering
Southeast Asian Engineering
The Southeast Asian Engineering Program is a 15-week immersive course hosted by Universitas Udayana in Bali, Indonesia. Designed to tackle the unique engineering challenges of Southeast Asia, this program trains students in skills essential for tropical environments—such as earthquake-resistant construction, sustainable urban transportation, and renewable energy solutions. Indonesia’s location along the Pacific Ring of Fire adds another layer of complexity, demanding specialized approaches to design and infrastructure.
Using Bali’s growing emphasis on sustainability, students explore eco-conscious construction methods and the use of local materials. The curriculum integrates lectures, field excursions, and hands-on projects, creating a unique learning environment that brings together practical engineering with regional insights.
Ideal for both students and professionals, this program provides valuable perspectives on engineering in tropical settings, equipping participants to understand and address the region’s spatial challenges and opportunities.
