5 ECTSHow tropical and cultural aesthetics shape luxury hotels and eco-resorts. Site selection, sustainable practice and case studies of Bali's best-known resorts, with visits to leading hospitality projects.

5 ECTSInterior space for tropical settings: spatial planning, natural materials such as bamboo and teak, and the meeting of traditional and modern influences across Bali and Southeast Asia.

Tropical Home+ details
5 ECTSClimate-responsive residential design. Ventilation, light and indoor-outdoor living for functional, sustainable homes rooted in local materials and culture.

Studio Project+ details
8 ECTSThe capstone, and the largest module. Under the theme East-Meets-West Harmony you develop a real project on a site in Denpasar or Badung, alongside practising architects, delivered as an A3 portfolio with a 3D animation.

Bahasa Indonesia – Indonesian Language+ details
2 ECTSThe basics of Bahasa Indonesia for daily and academic life on Bali: greetings, grammar and conversation built through practical exercises, so you can read the local context and take part in it.

ECTS, a full accredited semester. Academic transcript and Letter of Completion from Universitas Udayana travel home with you.

Fees and
intake dates.
Each intake moves through Early Bird, Regular and Late. Your fee is set by the phase on the day you register. Winter Class 2026 has closed, so Summer Class 2027 is the next to start, on 5 April 2027. Early Bird is open until 30 September, and this intake includes the student visa.
Every figure is the full-semester tuition and includes the €350 registration, refundable when you cancel more than 8 weeks before intake, minus a €100 processing fee. Summer Class 2027 also includes the E-30 student visa, arranged with Universitas Udayana. Each intake takes up to 30 students. Accommodation, flights and food are extra.

Students arrange their own place, usually a shared villa or guesthouse in Canggu, Umalas or Kerobokan. Your confirmed address is also what the E-30 visa needs, so we help you sort it early.
VisaWhat about the visa?→An E-30 student visa, sponsored and applied for by Universitas Udayana. You send passport scans and a photo, and we guide the whole process before you fly. For Summer Class 2027 it is included in the fee.
FundingCan I afford this?→Applying early is the lever open to everyone: Early Bird saves against the later phases, and the €350 registration is refundable when you cancel more than 8 weeks before intake, minus a €100 processing fee. National study-abroad grants can cover a meaningful share on top, and we issue the acceptance certificate and program description those offices ask for.

Is this a study-abroad semester?
Yes. The 15-week format is an architecture semester abroad at Universitas Udayana. The academic transcript and Letter of Completion document up to 30 ECTS. Your home institution alone decides whether and how they count, so confirm this with your registrar before applying.
Do I need to be an architecture student?
The program is primarily for architecture students, ideally with a year of study behind them, but anyone with a genuine interest in Southeast Asian architecture is welcome to apply with a short note on their background. The cohort mixes bachelor and master levels, and the Studio Project adapts its assessment to each.
Is the program accredited?
Yes. Southeast Asian Architecture is hosted by the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Udayana, a state university whose department is recognised by the ASEAN University Network and accredited by the Indonesian Association of Architects. You receive an academic transcript and Letter of Completion of up to 30 ECTS.

When are the intakes and which is next?
Twice a year. Winter Class runs September to December, Summer Class runs April to July. Winter Class 2026 has closed, so Summer Class 2027 is the next intake, open on Early Bird until 30 September. Both align with most international university semester calendars.
What about the student visa?
All international students study on an E-30 student visa, sponsored and applied for by Universitas Udayana. Studying on a tourist visa is not permitted in Indonesia. For Summer Class 2027 the visa is included in the tuition; we guide the whole process after you register.
